In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, Burger King has released meals parodying the iconic Happy Meal of McDonalds. Targeting a more mature audience, Burger King is shedding light on the mental health issues that plague many individuals across the globe with its Real Meals. The set of meals include the Blue Meal, the Salty Meal, the Yaaas Meal, the Pissed Meal, and the DGAF Meal.
Its #FeelYourWay campaign was accompanied by a video picturing the Real Meals and featuring people experiencing a range of emotions resulting from depression, bullying, and frustration.
I see Real Meals as Burger King being extremely aware of the current world. I predict that the meals will gain traction and that people will find the parodied meals amusing, posting them across social media. I believe this is Burger King’s intention as it will spread word on mental health issues while also attacking their rival.
