Arist Zimoun constructs “architecturally-minded platforms of sound”, combining visual elements on a massive scale. His sculptures transform industrial elements into delicate audio. Zimoun’s installations immerse the viewer (listener?) in an enclosed location where they are entirely surrounded by the piece. His works encourage us to reconsider the purpose of these every day items. It is also interesting how his pieces function differently with and without audio, which reminds me of the video we watched in class during Project 3 and how the soundscape completely changed our perception of the work.
