Survivors of the Notre Dame Fire

When the Notre Dame caught on fire last week, much of the church’s structure was destroyed after most of the timber roof caved in. However, there’s some good news – important relics had survived the fire. The three largest and oldest stained-glass rose windows, a huge organ from the 1730s, and Nicolas Coustou’s white marble Pietà sculpture survived. Thanks to firefighters and the clergy, some treasures were saved and are being taken to the Louvre to be restored.
