Notre-Dame de Paris: a visual history

This week we received devastating news that the Notre-Dame, a Catholic cathedral located in Paris, caught fire and sustained significant damage. It’s an icon of France that has a rich history, having existed since the 12th century.

I found this series of photographs and illustrations of the cathedral, collated by cnet. It reminded me of Jacob’s Floating Archives. How important it is for us to archive and memorialize these objects of historical and cultural significance!
