The introduction of Katamari Damacy, a popular game by Namco, makes for interesting analysis given our current knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. The game itself involves a ball absorbing surrounding objects to recreate a planet, which serves as the inspiration for my upcoming Photoshop project and the intro is just as ridiculous as the game itself. The clever use of layers was clearly shown in the first scene in which the king flies from behind the green mountains and again when he flies over the cloudy sky. The crane scene involves the moving the cranes across the screen diagonally while enlarging their sizes to simulate approach. However, the most transparent similarity with in-class tasks was the emergence and disappearance of the giraffe and elephant from behind the mountains, accomplished by dividing the background into 2 separate layers and inserting the animal layer in the middle.
