Furniture designer Anna Castelli Ferrieri created the manufacturing brand Kartell, and it became known for its innovative and practical designs. The doors are handleless and slide open. Without doors that swing open, the modules work in tight spaces and the vertical storage units can be stacked on top of each other. The sophisticated and simple design captured the Pop art culture and elevated lent plastic, a low status material, to a higher value.
