Chinese New Year Couplets

When Chinese New Year rolls around each year, millions of Chinese people decorate their homes and businesses with New Year Couplets (aka ‘Chunlian’ in Chinese). These couplets look like long red pieces of paper with black or golden characters painted on them, typically wishing people a better life in the coming year. New Year Couplets are traditionally seen as a form of Chinese literature, poetry, and calligraphic art.
