Monochrome Makeover

Facebook has a reputation of working with contemporary artists in the design of the company’s offices. For the location in India, an artist named Aniruddh Mehta was invited to decorate the Gurgaon office. His work is defined by the marriage of monochrome and repeated patterns, textures, and lines. In his words, the mural for Facebook is “a combination of traditional pattern work juxtaposed with a bold, futurist digital op-art (optical art) aesthetic.” Given the works we had to produce using black and white, I thought it was fascinating to come across modern pieces that continue to use this monochrome motif.
