This image reminded me of the geographic projects we discussed class in that it is in direct contrast. In the geographic projections, our 3D world is flattened out into different 2D configurations to emphasize different countries. This magazine cover featuring Billie Eilish, on the other hand, demonstrates an effort to maintain a 3D projection or even take it one step further to have multiple layers. The configuration of Billie’s multiple heads reminds me of Russian dolls.
